Were alive!!!!
DAY 15, 16, 17
We are alive! Just a quick overall update. Our phone line in our apartment has been down for three days now so we are now staying at the Cosmonaut Hotel so that we can have internet access, and a phone. So here we go.
DAY 15
We are starting to feel like we have the starring roles in Groundhog Day. We get up, get ready, go visit Sean, go to lunch, go visit Sean, and then come home and post on the blog. We went to a new restaurant today that has the best pork shish-ka-bob's. Deb is one of the pickiest eaters and has no problem finding food that she likes to eat. The doctor came to see how Sean was doing today. His fever is finally down but he does have an ear infection. They gave him drops, put cotton in his ears and then made him wear a hat inside. Of all the days to be 80 degrees. He didn't fuss a bit. He was in such a better mood today. He was smiling a whole lot more but not too many giggles. Hopefully he will be back in the swing of things tomorrow. We were actually really surprised that they let us take him outside today. We figured because he was still not 100% healthy that we would be stuck indoors. We were very happy to go out because our days of going outside this week are going to be limited due to a drop in temperature. So we went for a stroll and played in the playground. Sean absolutely loves to go outside but he has the most serious look on his face the entire time.
Molly went from Eminem to the Joker's daughter today. She had a hat on that made her look like a little bad ass and when her Mama took off her hat her hair was standing straight up. She is so much fun to watch because she is full of personality.
We (Mary Ann, Jay, and Deb) bought pizzas for the caregivers, nurses and doctors to show our appreciation of all of their hard work and dedication. They were very happy. We think that we bought a few extra minutes of outside play time.
Last night we went to Mary Ann's hotel for drinks and dinner. It was a great way to break up the long day. We unloaded all of our thoughts (good, bad, and funny). We must inform you that Deb is becoming a light weight. We know that it is hard to believe but after a pint of Amstel she was feeling a little loopy. We decided that this would become our Sunday night ritual.
DAY 16
Our Sean seems to be doing better but is still not feeling 100%. He is still in good spirits but has been sleepy, and every so often a little bit fussy. Not as bad as Mama & Papa will be if they don't get the phone line fixed. We decided that he is going to be a cuddler. He wants to be held much of the time that we spend with him.
We are trying to take a lot of pictures, and learn as much information as we can about Karaganda Kazakhstan. Deb plans to make a scrap book about everything that we have learned so that when Sean gets a little older we can share with him everything that we know about where he was born. We had the pictures developed and now Olga has been sharing with us important information about each picture and Deb has been writing it all down. It is like being in school all over again. Taking notes???
Tomorrow we are going to start discussing questions that will be asked in court and what the proper response should be. We also have to start preparing a photo albun to take to court. Olga also mentioned that we will discuss questions that will be asked to us by a social worker. We better make sure that we take notes tomorrow so we don't blow it.
DAY 17
Still no phone line, and no pay phones any where near our apartment so sorry that we were not able to inform everyone that we are okay. We told our translator that we would not return to our apartment until the phone line was working again. So we are now staying at the Cosmonaut hotel. Not having a phone line to contact anyone if something went wrong stressed Deb out and she woke up with a migraine. We are considering moving in for good. Much more comfortable beds, workout gym, sauna, pool, free breakfast, and a bar. It is also within walking distance of the Baby House. Then we could tell our driver where to go. It took Deb forever to type all of this because we are having to use the business office at the hotel so today will have to be short. Once we get back into the swing of things our posts will be more informative, and have pictures again. We now need to make a few phone calls, reply to e-mails, and most importantly have a few cervezas, pivii, or beers.
