3 Week Anniversary

DAY 18
It is our three week anniversary of when we left good ole Chi-Town. Boy, do we miss it! But we should be in the home stretch at this point.
It was so nice to get up in the morning and go and work out before we went to see Sean. We figure that we could probably eat anything and still lose weight at this point. We are walking several miles a day and will be working out twice a day.
Sean was in a really in a good mood today. We absolutely love it when he starts to laugh. He sounds so sweet and we can’t help but laugh ourselves. We are really enjoying ourselves with him. The doctor came in to see him again and said that she ran some blood work and he had some inflammation. Now whatever that means we have no idea. Their medical terms and ours are completely different. Before we left our international doctor had told us that we should not worry if they give us any medical terms that we do not understand, because a lot of times it is a big word for either a little problem or no problem. She is going to give him a shot once a day for five days. He still had a tiny little fever today but it didn’t stop him from having a good time.
All of the women at the Baby House are incredibly hard workers. They do all of the laundry that 100 babies and children up to 4 years accumulate in a day. You can imagine how much that is! Today one of the caregivers came up with two enormous bags of laundry and then went down again to get more. We asked Olga to tell them that when they are going to go get the laundry to let us know and we would help. They were surprised and ecstatic that we wanted to help. They commented on how nobody has ever offered to help them before. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, we are making Karaganda Baby house history.
Deleen, we know that you were asking for Sean’s height and weight and we forgot to check today. However, we just measured last week and he was 28” and he weighs 15.4lbs. The international doctor said that he is in the 95% range for height and only only 25% for weight. We will take care of that when we get him home. They try to do there best to give them all the vitamins, protein, etc. as they can but due to limited funds they can’t provide them with everything. Once we get him home and he has a proper diet and exercise he will be fitting right in with American standards.
We are so excited that Mary Ann’s cousin is coming today. There will be one more American to cause problems in the hotel. We are also going to start to forget where we are with all of the English speaking folks.
